Suwasevana is a facility near Karapitiya hospital built with vision to offer free service to the community despite race or religion. The mission of our facility is to provide shelter for outpatients who commute long distance to seek medical treatment in the city. The facility comprises of two buildings that can accommodate a total of twenty-eight patients on a daily basis. Our patients are permitted to stay at the facility with one caregiver from their family and are offered free food and beverages during their stay of the duration of their treatment which varies with each patient. In addition, our friendly staff is always available to provide assistance when needed. With this vision, we hope to serve the community at large by providing support and free cervices that caters to all in need of assistance.
People from rural areas need to travel one day prior to their appointment in order to ensure they arrive in the city on time to make it to their appointment the following day. once they reach the city, most people don’t have the financial bandwidth to afford a place to stay nearby the hospital but to seek other means by sleeping at bus stops or any random places on the street.
